New Brother V Series on my wish list!!

So, today I was going through my e-mails (I have been MIA for a few days issues and all) and there it was.... the new Brother!!! Have you seen it yet?? I have to say the first video for it is kind of cheesy! I was like what, what?? OK so if you go here you can click on the link to see the videos! I am geeking out!! What am I fly over?? The 11.25 inch throat!! AAAHHHH! I am working on a little Brother! Mine has only 5 inches and I muscle my quilts through that! (note they have updated the videos and they are a little clearer now)

DreamWeaver Quilting/Sewing Machine
I called my local dealer and asked for more info on it because there is not much given. Tim said he worked with one at the convention and it sewed like a dream, was there a pun intended there?? They are calling it the 'DreamWeaver' maybe I was in such a hurry I didn't realize he said that until just now!! LOL He has some on order but was unable to give an exact date on when they would be in. Is this normal?? Most things have a launch date and you KNOW when they are going to be out. I am new to the whole sewing machine world so I am just not sure! He did say probably late September.

DreamMaker Embroidery Machine
Out of curiosity I also asked about pricing (which of course you cannot find ANYWHERE in all the advertising! Now he could only give me a ball park and I only asked about two of the three machines! He said the combo machine (DreamWeaver XE) would be around the 6,000-6,500 price point and the DreamWeaver (quilting/sewing only) around 3,500-4,200. I did not think that was bad. Am I wrong there??  Again I am pretty new and this is the first time I have looked at a little 'fancier' machine than what I have. It is kind of like buying a car I think! Ford is going to tell you why theirs is the best... Honda will do the same, as will Chevy! And really they all have their strengths right?? LOL I don't know! I just wanted to throw this all out there and see what y'all think! What kind of a machine are you quilting on?? Did you test drive it first?? Is it a fancy guy??
DreamWeaver XE Combo Machine
Ok I am off to dream about sewing on this machine! I WANT IT!! LOL

All of the pics here are NOT mine they are from the Brother website.

Winner of the stash and Why I was late...

Forgot to cut...
Can I say a great be SO SORRY! I Know this post was to be out on Saturday morning! BUT!!! Last week was my mad dash to get a baby gift done! Now if it could go wrong IT DID!! I was following Kiera's 'Following the Leader' pattern (kind of because we all know I just do my own thing anyway). First you need 108 Flying F#&*(%G Geese. I chose to make them in the groups of four, you know less waste and all. I have done this before, I know how to do it... and yet I still sewed all for of them little booger squares on and then realized I had skipped a step!! YUP!! 108 all done WRONG!! You know what that means! I spent five hours 'unsewin'!! I got them all undone, cut , and oops cut through two of my small squares that were hidden away under the big square, thank goodness I had plenty of material!! I got it bound on Thursday night, Most of the quilting done on Friday, sewed the extra batting to the back on the last four rounds of quilting (oops!!!) spent PLENTY of time trying to remove the batting!! BUT!! I sat down and bound it Saturday while watching 'Rocky II, III, IV, & V (Very appropriate because it is one of the Daddy's fave, and he is a big Italian guy who kinda sounds like Rocky!!!)  Yesterday I delivered to Mommy and she was VERY pleased!!

Following The Leader!
I love a pieced back and I found Flames VERY appropriate for the fellow Fireman! (If you missed the prior post this was a baby gift for a fellow fire wife who is due in six weeks) And if y'all don't know it I am a sucker for a red binding!! So!!! YAY!! Done and delivered and yesterday was spent sitting around with 11 other fire wives and eating and a few bottles of wine and LOTS of advice!! :o) And we all get to do it again soon one of the wives in attendance is due in late October!!
The Back
Binding!
With out further ado I should get to why I KNOW all of you are here!! I need to pass along the stash!! I did use Mr. Random Number Generator however I cannot get it to post on here with the number on here (if someone wants to tell me how to do that I would LOVE to know!!) Anywhoooo the winner is #6!!  She said :

I would love a chance to add some quilty goodness to this box!

Congrats Wendy! Pop me over your information and I would love to get this box to you!!
Everyone else have a great day and begin to stalk Wendy for your chance to win the box next!! :o)

Tug Fest time again

This weekend I was going to work on two baby quilts... that did not happen!! Here is why...

FRIDAY:
Do y'all remember my post last year about the Tug Fest?? Well it was time for the Tug again this year! Friday night was fireworks!!  I have to tell you I was so very disappointed this year! I always say that the fireworks are the best in the Quad Cities!! They last a half hour... this year they lasted fifteen minutes. Now I am not saying they were bad, they just were not what the Tug fireworks used to be! I mean, it used to be a rumble over the river! Iowa and Illinois battled it out with their fireworks! It is no longer that way. Plus for the first time ever they charged you to get down to the Tug area! OK it was only $3 a person, (plus $2 for a wristband if you wanted to drink) but it had always been 'donations'. Yes, we always tossed money into the bucket, but it sure does not encourage you to come back for a second day! I do hope the video link works. I have never tried a video before! This is the finale! Well most of it! took me a second or three to grab my phone and think about taking the video!!
SATURDAY:
Kaycee, Ryan, and I
My oldest and dearest friend in the whole world (whom I have spoken about before) Becky, came in town. Honeyman and I went out with her! She lives two hours away and I do miss seeing her! I also got to see one of her boys (she has 16 year old twin boys) can I tell you they get taller every time I see them!! They are 6"5'!!! We karaoked and hit a birthday party! Then Bec crashed on my couch!!
SUNDAY:
I spent the majority of the morning drinking coffee and chatting with Bec! (Till almost 2 in the afternoon!!) Honeyman was on shift and there was a wedding of one of his fellow firemen. So, I called upon my faithful hubby #2, did I get your attention there?? LOL My friend Kaycee and I are both fire wives. our husbands are on different shifts... we each call the others husband our second husband because if we need anything on our mans shift day (they work 24 hour shifts)... We all laughed when I got to their house because we looked as if we had planned our coordinating outfits! It was not the case! Just a happy accident! Ryan was such a lucky guy to have these two hotties on his arm! Well most of the night anyway, Honeyman was able to pop in for about 20 minutes! They drove the truck up to the reception! I love their close nit fire station!! And all of the fellow firemen are always so very wonderful and welcoming!!
So... I have a baby shower for one of the fire wives this Saturday! I have one week to get her quilt done! (Nope I have NOT started it!!) And I don't think I mentioned one of my mommies (of the kids I watch) had her baby!! Luke Joseph! She did NOT know what she was going to have and we called the baby 'OscarDaisy' while she was pregnant!!
I have taken plenty of your time! I need to go so I can decide what I am going to make these two little guys!!
Happy stitching!!

Traveling Stash is visiting ME!!

Look what came to visit my house! I won the priveledge of having th traveling stash. Visit me! Hilachas & My Sister Made Me Do It started their own "Two Sisters Traveling Stash". SO! I have a week to choose my treasures and load it up with some from me!
Do you want it to. Come visit you next? Leave a comment here and let me know! Now there are a few rules!

The usual rules will prevail for “Two Sisters” Traveling Stash:”

RULES:
1. Be an active blogger. Post about receiving and the giveaway on your blog within a week.
2. There is a note in the box that logs where the box has been. Please add your info and place the note back in the box.
3. There is a list of Rules and Guidelines in the box. Please read and follow these and return the list to the box. The box we will use shall be a USPS large Flat Rate Box which ships for $15.95. If the box you receive is damaged or unusable you can get another one free of charge from the Post Office.
4. You may take anything you like from the box. Just replace every item with comparable quilt shop quality items equal to the amount taken. See guidelines below.
5. Ship the box to the next person within 3 days of announcing the winner.
6. Due to postage constrictions, shipping is only within the USA.
GUIDELINES:
The definition of a stash is a secret store of valuables. For quilters it's a collection of usable quality products. The stash should contain mostly fabric with a few patterns and/or books and other items.
  • FABRIC: Should be quilt shop quality in new condition. Scraps should only be included if they are cut for adding to a collection and packaged accordingly (i.e. I-Spy squares, postage stamp squares, etc.). There should not be anything under a Fat Quarter unless packaged like this.
  • PATTERNS/BOOKS: Should be in new or gently used condition. They should be kept to a minimum (books are bulky and take up space that most of us would rather have for fabric).
  • OTHER ITEMS: Should be in new or gently used condition. Tools, notions, etc. These items should be packaged if necessary.
IMPORTANT THINGS TO REMEMBER:
  • If you receive a box with anything that is of "poor" condition you should not feel guilty in tossing it out but please do NOT announce that you have done so. Please just do so quietly.
  • Only put items in the box that you would be proud to own. The box is NOT a dumping place for all your outdated unwanted items.
  • Items should be free of smoke and pet hairs.
  • You must replace items you take with the same quantity of like-kind items. Replacing more than you take is always welcome. :)

Now that we have all that straightened out! LOL Leave me a comment by midnight on Friday the 17th!!! I will draw a winner next Saturday!! That will give me a week to grab some goodies and decide what I am going to replace them with and give EVERYONE a chance to leave a comment and get in on this fun!!! This will be SO MUCH FUN!!
I can't wait to see where it will go next!!
Have a great weekend all!!

Still no computer and Not smart enough for my Phone! LOL

So The power supply came in for our computer. It works but for some reason I am unable to get the monitor to work now. I just don't get it! I got a new cell phone! It is smart and .. well I am not! LOL I cannot for the life of me figure out how to write a post and make it work! I get a publish failed every time! I did however figure out how to get my postings onto Flickr! YAY! So once again I can let the ladies in my swaps know what I am sending them!

Photo Aug Beejeebers block
The full photo of this block has the black hand of death upon it so I can't seem to get it on here! LOL She was lucky I did not keep this one for myself! That skull is an Alexander Henry print called Bandanna and can I tell you it is SO me!!
Aug Comfort Quilts

For Aug Comfort quilts she wanted bright fun colours on an off white background. (it really is off white, you can tell when it is against my Kona white! LOL)
Margaret wanted a basic Churn Dash For hers in my Bee Creative! Blue (once again we will laugh about the amount of blue in my stash!)

Cups at the Dirty Docs!
OK This next photo is NOT something I made! We all have to laugh! So a month ago I went to the 'girlie Doc' (OBGYN) anyway! In the exam room I found this BEAUTIFUL cup wall hanging! Well after talking with my Doc (who is very cool!) I found out that her Mother quilts and made one for each of the rooms! OK this makes me want another apt! Am I right!! I thought it would be rude to just ask to walk into each of the exam room and take pics! LOL SO!! I will have to be sure to remember to take another pic next time!

Well I know the pics are not the greatest! But hey! I am able to get them on here! Now i hope I can remember what I did! HAHA I have LOTS of pics on my camera including the pics of the quilts I made for my cousins! Wait did I tell you about that??? Stay tuned and I will next time!!

Till then, Happy stitching! Have a great day!!
